Our firm provides expert consultancy in the field of Environment Law including the clearances, compliance and general information for companies as required from State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) in their jurisdiction. Along with that, we represent our clients before the state high courts, the Supreme Court, and the various benches throughout India of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) for matters of this field.
Some of the important cases that we have dealt with are: –
- Common Cause v. Union of India – the firm represented Mining Licensees in this matter who were aggrieved by the ban on mining and the firm obtained a favourable order from the Supreme Court of India for our clients which resultantly led to opening of mine and related mining activities.
- T.A. Godavarman Thirumulpad v. Union of India – In this matter, Licensees were represented for Forest Produce and other allied issues relating to environmental norms and necessary permissions/clearances.
- All India Plastic Ban – The Delhi Govt. took a bold stand against the use of plastic by issuing complete ban on plastic products. Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma was appointed as Special Counsel for Department of Environment, Govt. of NCT to appear and defend the said ban before the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India.
- M.C. Mehta v. Union of India – The firm represented various corporate bodies and firms in this matter, whose licenses and permissions were cancelled or revoked, even after fulfilling the eligibility criteria; and thus Supreme Court was pleased to grant Compliant Applicants.
